Prerequisites for a Revolution.

The radio told me yesterday that a man and a woman were shot for running amok outside the PM's office.  Today's papers confirmed the news. Apparently, the guy claimed to be Imam Mahadi.  The samurai wielding man claimed that he wanted to overthrow the government.  Then he and his companion were shot.  He died later.
I suppose the anti-government minded folks out there are waxing lyrically about the couple's mini revolution.  Me.  I have a different take on the matter.
Ok, so they wanted to overthrow the government.  Fine, everybody needs a hobby.  What I find pathetic about the whole affair was their failure to inject some rationality into the endeavour.
First, two people can overthrow a country but if and only if they strike at the right time, right place and in the right way but you need to realise that they are prepared for you.
The PM's office is designed for the sole purpose of making it difficult for people with intentions like yours.  So, stealth and deception would have given you a better chance than the direct samurai sword approach.
Secondly, you need to realise that you would have a better chance with some back up and reinforcement.  The more the merrier, even your chances will improve.
Thirdly, even if you do manage to get in and even if you make into the PM's office, and detain some hostages. They have snipers.  You'd probably be better off staying away from windows.
Fourth, say you manage to use your sword on the PM. You will be apprehended for murder, not hailed as the new leader.  We are not living in an old silat movie.
I recently saw a poster that reads, "If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail".  This is an extreme example.  Then again, you may be planning to be a martyr.  Great, all the best to you BUT I think martyrs die fighting in a strategically planned and winnable wars.  I suspect the recent attempt would probably not qualify.

Hazidi even if the guy succeeded it would be a pretty shameful day for Malaysia's international reputation.

There is no substitute for whipping BN at the polls come election time.
