Blogging Ramadan; Day 7

My office had a tazkirah today. A tazkirah is basically a religious talk and you see a lot of those in Ramadan. This is the time when religious speakers are busiest which is a good thing because they supplement their income with the monetary gifts.
On the other end, we get to brush up on our religious knowledge on a daily basis at the terawikh prayers and sometimes at the office too. BUT
There is a downside. Sometimes our ustadzs abd ustadzahs run out of ideas and inspiration. Come on. Be honest. They do. They are human beings too. That is when some resort to politics and others go for comedy.
What I find sad is that often these speakers stay with the simpler and safe matters. I think it should incremental. Early Ramadan - the basics. Mid Ramadan - the pious acts (ibadah) and at the end of Ramadan, they should talk about jurisprudence, theology, mysticism and the fundamentals of the deviationists so that we will leave Ramadan with a better understanding of our world.
